In 2025, all components for a total of four wind turbines were transported via the Rhine to Birsfelden and transshipped there.<\/p>\n

Logistical Challenges and Solutions<\/h3>\n

The dimensions of the transported goods are remarkable. Rotor blades measuring up to 34 meters in length and generators weighing up to 65 tons were transported via the Rhine. After transshipment in Birsfelden, further transport was carried out by heavy goods traffic along the Gotthard route to N\u00e4tschen. These logistical processes illustrate the efficiency and necessity of a well-coordinated transport chain.<\/p>\n

The development in the field of wind power continues. Since April 2026, another project with six wind turbines is being realized, with rotor blades reaching lengths of up to 54 meters this time. This places increased demands on logistics and transport coordination.<\/p>\n

The significance of the Rhine as a main transport corridor is underscored by these projects. Without the use of the Rhine, such transports would be difficult to implement. Combined with well-coordinated road connections, a seamless transport chain is created that extends into the hinterland.
