On July 1, Markus Panhauser will become the new CEO of DHL Global Forwarding in Germany and Switzerland. In his new role, he will take responsibility for both country organizations. Panhauser succeeds Tobias Schmidt, who has successfully led the two country organizations in addition to his role as CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Europe since November 2021. A successor for Markus Panhauser as Head of Ocean Freight DHL Global Europe has already been found in Barbara Eleota.<\/h5>\n

(Bonn) “We are convinced that Markus Panhauser, with his expertise in the forwarding business, will help to further expand the market share of DHL Global Forwarding in the two important markets of Germany and Switzerland and strengthen the two country organizations for the future,” said Tim Scharwath, CEO DHL Global Forwarding, Freight. “Tobias Schmidt has done an excellent job but will now focus fully on his role as CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Europe. With his extensive experience and commitment, he has significantly contributed to the success of DHL Global Forwarding in Germany and Switzerland and is now handing over two very successful country organizations to his successor.”<\/p>\n

Markus Panhauser joined the company in 2020 as Head of Ocean Freight DHL Global Forwarding Europe after gaining extensive experience in the forwarding business at various global logistics companies. Over the past three years, he has successfully elevated the European sea freight business of the division to a high performance level, making a significant contribution to increasing profitability.<\/p>\n

“The domestic markets in Germany and Switzerland are important pillars in our European and global network. With our unique forwarding culture, we have a solid foundation for sustainable and successful growth in Germany and Switzerland. I am convinced that Markus, with his solid expertise, great commitment, and passion for high service quality, will take the two country organizations to a new level,” said Tobias Schmidt, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Europe.<\/p>\n

Diverse Perspective and Extensive Expertise<\/h5>\n

Barbara Eleota will succeed Markus Panhauser as Head of Ocean Freight DHL Global Forwarding Europe on August 1, 2024. Eleota is moving from DB Schenker to DHL Group and brings over 25 years of experience in the logistics industry to her new role. Throughout her career, she has been particularly successful in Trade Management with a focus on North America and as Country Ocean Freight Manager in Italy. Eleota will have her office in Hamburg and will report directly to Tobias Schmidt and Casper Ellerbaek, Global Head of Ocean Freight at DHL Global Forwarding.<\/p>\n
