The complex structures of supply chains, in which logistics providers also play a key role, harbor risks that can quickly develop into insurmountable obstacles \u2013 especially for medium-sized companies that often do not have the same resources as large corporations. It is time to address this challenge with the necessary urgency and foresight.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Ticking Time Bomb Without SCM Expertise \u2013 And the Role of Logistics <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In the supply chains of medium-sized businesses, numerous interests collide: cost optimization, efficiency enhancement, and compliance with ESG and CSR standards must be ensured simultaneously. The role of logistics providers should not be underestimated. They play a crucial role in ensuring that sustainability goals are met in the supply chain. Without solid SCM know-how that also encompasses logistics, well-intentioned measures such as switching to a \u201cgreen\u201d supplier at Tier-1 level can quickly lead to production losses, higher costs, or longer delivery times.
