(Bern) Efficient logistics is of central importance for Switzerland, as it fundamentally contributes to the economic success of the country. In addition to high logistical efficiency in the domestic market, effective connectivity is essential for the internationally intertwined Swiss economy.<\/p>\n

Switzerland is located in the heart of Europe, serving as an important transit corridor for freight traffic between Northern and Southern Europe. This situation also gives logistics a relevant role in cross-border trade in Europe. However, the topographical location with the Alps as a natural barrier, along with the dense transport network, including highly developed rail and road infrastructure, also presents special challenges for Switzerland. The logistics sector increasingly faces challenges such as localized capacity bottlenecks in domestic and transit traffic, which could limit the efficiency of freight flow in the future.<\/p>\n
