The Swiss Post is facing a cyberattack in its freight logistics division in Germany. Approximately 1,600 business customers who utilize warehousing and transportation services from Swiss Post Cargo Germany are affected. The information security team of Swiss Post is working closely with local experts under high pressure to stabilize the systems. The systems of the Post in Switzerland are not affected.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Bern\/Villingen-Schwenningen) Since last week, the freight logistics division of Swiss Post in Germany has been unable to access its IT systems or can only do so partially. Investigations reveal that a targeted cyberattack is the cause of the system failure. Local logistics, accounting, and personnel systems of Swiss Post Cargo Germany are affected. Due to the complexity of the business, the impacts are most strongly felt in the general cargo sector.<\/p>\n

Additionally, data sets from the period 2020\u20132025 have been stolen during the cyberattack. It cannot be completely ruled out that the attackers also gained access to sensitive personal data. A report has been made to the relevant German data protection authority, and criminal charges have been filed. Primarily affected by the system failure are around 1,600 business customers of Swiss Post Cargo Germany, who have been regularly informed by the responsible authorities since the beginning of the incident.<\/p>\n

Operational business is currently being stabilized<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Swiss Post Cargo Germany is focused on serving customers even without the normal IT systems. To continue operations as effectively as possible, Swiss Post Cargo Germany has adjusted workflows and temporarily increased its workforce as part of an established emergency plan.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the IT experts from Swiss Post and Swiss Post Cargo are working diligently to restore the affected systems, implement replacement systems, and secure the infrastructure against any further attacks more comprehensively than before. Initial progress has been made in this regard, but a return to normal operations is not yet fully foreseeable.<\/p>\n

Other countries not affected<\/h5>\n

The ICT infrastructures of Swiss Post in Switzerland and other countries are not affected by the cyberattack.<\/p>\n
