Elles d\u00e9sengorgent les villages et les agglom\u00e9rations et ouvrent les r\u00e9gions aux biens et aux personnes. Bien qu&#8217;elles ne repr\u00e9sentent qu&#8217;environ trois pour cent de l&#8217;ensemble du r\u00e9seau routier, en 2025, pr\u00e8s de 45 pour cent de tous les kilom\u00e8tres parcourus par les v\u00e9hicules ont \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9s sur ces routes, soit environ 30 milliards de kilom\u00e8tres. Avec 68 040 heures de bouchons, la surcharge a fortement augment\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 l&#8217;ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. Cela montre que, malgr\u00e9 des mesures cibl\u00e9es pour am\u00e9liorer le flux de circulation, le r\u00e9seau des routes nationales atteint de plus en plus ses limites de capacit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9at2400\" class=\"font--regular\">En 2025, environ 30 milliards de kilom\u00e8tres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 parcourus sur le r\u00e9seau des routes nationales (+1,4 pour cent par rapport \u00e0 2024). Environ 25 milliards de kilom\u00e8tres concernent les voitures particuli\u00e8res (+1,5 pour cent). Le transport de marchandises d\u00e9pend \u00e9galement fortement des routes nationales : plus de 70 pour cent du transport routier de marchandises lourdes a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9 par le r\u00e9seau des routes nationales. Cela ressort du rapport \u00ab D\u00e9veloppement du trafic et disponibilit\u00e9 des routes nationales 2025 \u00bb.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"doc-1js9asuat0\" class=\"h2\">Le r\u00e9seau atteint sa limite de charge<\/h2>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9au8gf0\" class=\"font--regular\">En 2025, un total de 68 040 heures de bouchons a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9, soit une augmentation d&#8217;environ 20 pour cent par rapport \u00e0 l&#8217;ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. Environ 89 pour cent des bouchons sont dus \u00e0 une surcharge de trafic, moins de 4 pour cent \u00e0 des chantiers, ce qui est inf\u00e9rieur au chiffre de l&#8217;ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. Les itin\u00e9raires les plus touch\u00e9s \u00e9taient ceux avec un fort trafic pendulaire, notamment l&#8217;A1 Gen\u00e8ve \u2013 Saint-Gall, l&#8217;A2 B\u00e2le \u2013 Chiasso et l&#8217;A3 B\u00e2le \u2013 Sargans. Les heures de bouchons au tunnel du Gothard \u00e9taient \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s au m\u00eame niveau qu&#8217;en 2024.<\/p>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9auj420\" class=\"font--regular\">La forte augmentation des heures de bouchons montre que la surcharge sur le r\u00e9seau des routes nationales ne se manifeste pas de mani\u00e8re ponctuelle. Sur des sections importantes, des goulets d&#8217;\u00e9tranglement structurels r\u00e9currents apparaissent de plus en plus. Parall\u00e8lement, le trafic se r\u00e9partit, notamment dans le Mittelland, plus uniform\u00e9ment tout au long de la journ\u00e9e. Ainsi, le r\u00e9seau n&#8217;est plus seulement fortement sollicit\u00e9 pendant les heures de pointe du matin et du soir, mais dans de nombreux endroits presque en permanence. M\u00eame de petits \u00e9v\u00e9nements comme des pannes ou des accidents entra\u00eenent des bouchons et un trafic ralenti. Les temps de trajet sur les routes nationales deviennent de plus en plus impr\u00e9visibles. Cela peut inciter les usagers de la route \u00e0 \u00e9viter les routes nationales et \u00e0 se d\u00e9tourner vers les routes cantonales et communales.<\/p>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9aurfu0\" class=\"font--regular\">Cela est particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9vident sur les axes principaux A1 et A2. Sur de nombreuses routes cantonales, la croissance du trafic est plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e que sur les autoroutes parall\u00e8les. Cela indique que les usagers de la route effectuent de plus en plus leurs trajets via le r\u00e9seau routier secondaire et moins par les routes nationales.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"doc-1js9av2lp0\" class=\"h2\">Les syst\u00e8mes de gestion du trafic intelligents montrent leur efficacit\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9avbdh0\" class=\"font--regular\">L&#8217;ASTRA r\u00e9pond \u00e0 cette \u00e9volution par diverses mesures visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer le flux de circulation. Des syst\u00e8mes de gestion du trafic intelligents, tels que l&#8217;harmonisation de la vitesse ou la lib\u00e9ration temporaire de la bande d&#8217;arr\u00eat d&#8217;urgence, aident \u00e0 utiliser l&#8217;infrastructure existante de mani\u00e8re plus efficace. Par exemple, sur l&#8217;A6 entre Thun et Berne ainsi que sur l&#8217;A1 pr\u00e8s de Winterthur, les bouchons ont \u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e9rablement r\u00e9duits gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&#8217;utilisation des bandes d&#8217;arr\u00eat d&#8217;urgence. De plus, l&#8217;ASTRA centralise davantage la gestion de ces syst\u00e8mes \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle nationale et am\u00e9liore continuellement les algorithmes de gestion. L&#8217;application d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e \u00e0 cet effet, \u00ab Gestion du trafic Suisse \u00bb, est en service pour les premiers syst\u00e8mes de gestion du trafic depuis fin 2025. Parall\u00e8lement, l&#8217;ASTRA explore avec l&#8217;industrie automobile les potentiels de la conduite hautement assist\u00e9e et automatis\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re coh\u00e9rente. Ces efforts auront \u00e0 moyen et long terme un impact positif sur le flux de circulation et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"doc-1js9avo600\" class=\"h2\">Des am\u00e9nagements ponctuels apportent un soulagement \u00e0 long terme<\/h2>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9avvlr0\" class=\"font--regular\">La gestion du trafic et la conduite automatis\u00e9e \u00e0 elles seules ne suffisent pas \u00e0 garantir la fonctionnalit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau \u00e0 long terme. Les goulets d&#8217;\u00e9tranglement syst\u00e9matiques mettent en p\u00e9ril l&#8217;ensemble de la fonctionnalit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau. Pour relever ce d\u00e9fi, des am\u00e9nagements ponctuels sont appropri\u00e9s. Dans le cadre du projet <a class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uvek.admin.ch\/de\/verkehr-45\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\" aria-label=\"www.uvek.admin.ch\/de\/verkehr-45 Lien dans un nouvel onglet\">\u00ab Trafic \u201945 \u00bb<\/a>, l&#8217;UVEK a prioris\u00e9 les projets d&#8217;am\u00e9nagement pr\u00e9vus sur route et rail et a \u00e9labor\u00e9 un projet pour le d\u00e9veloppement cibl\u00e9 des routes nationales. L&#8217;objectif reste de garantir la disponibilit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau \u00e0 long terme, de d\u00e9sengorger \u00e0 nouveau les routes cantonales et communales et de maintenir les routes nationales performantes m\u00eame en cas de chantiers ou d&#8217;\u00e9v\u00e9nements. Le Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral a ouvert la consultation sur le projet le 19 juin 2026.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"doc-1js9b28kj0\" class=\"h2\">Collecte des heures de bouchons<\/h2>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9b2hvs0\" class=\"font--regular\">Les heures de bouchons sont bas\u00e9es sur les rapports de trafic de Viasuisse. Pour chaque \u00e9v\u00e9nement de bouchon, le d\u00e9but et la fin sont enregistr\u00e9s et analys\u00e9s statistiquement. Il est veill\u00e9 \u00e0 ce que chaque bouchon ne soit compt\u00e9 qu&#8217;une seule fois et soit clairement attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 une route nationale.<\/p>\n<p id=\"doc-1js9b2oa00\" class=\"font--regular\">L&#8217;ASTRA d\u00e9veloppe en permanence la d\u00e9tection des bouchons. \u00c0 l&#8217;avenir, les heures de bouchons pourraient \u00eatre de plus en plus enregistr\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re automatis\u00e9e, par exemple \u00e0 l&#8217;aide de donn\u00e9es de v\u00e9hicules flottants ou de mod\u00e9lisations de trafic. Il reste important que la m\u00e9thodologie et la base de donn\u00e9es restent stables et tra\u00e7ables \u00e0 long terme, afin de permettre des comparaisons sur plusieurs ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p><a
