De Zwitserse Vereniging van Vrachtvervoerders (ASTAG) uit zijn bezorgdheid over de huidige files die het Federaal Bureau voor Wegen (ASTRA) heeft gepubliceerd. Volgens deze gegevens is de filedruk in Zwitserland binnen een jaar met 22,4 % gestegen, wat heeft geleid tot een record van meer dan 68.040 file-uren. Deze ontwikkeling wordt als alarmerend beschouwd, aangezien het niet alleen de belangrijkste verkeersaders, maar ook andere routes betreft.<\/p>\n

Stijgende filecijfers en hun oorzaken<\/h3>\n

De toename van de filetijden is niet te wijten aan bouwplaatsen of ongevallen, die minder dan 10 % van de totale file uitmaken. Integendeel, de overbelasting van de bestaande autosnelweg-infrastructuur is de belangrijkste oorzaak. Volgens ASTAG ontstaat 89,3 % van de files door onvoldoende capaciteit op de nationale wegen. Deze situatie heeft directe gevolgen voor de transport- en bevoorradingssector, die in Zwitserland voor meer dan 82 % afhankelijk is van het wegverkeer. Om de gebruikelijke kwaliteit en punctualiteit van de leveringen te waarborgen, zijn steeds meer voertuigen nodig, wat leidt tot een verhoogd brandstofverbruik en hogere slijtage van voertuigen.<\/p>\n

Staatsraad en ASTAG-voorzitter Thierry Burkart benadrukt dat files inmiddels een belangrijke kostenfactor voor transportbedrijven zijn geworden. De uitdagingen in het binnenlands verkeer nemen toe, en de mogelijkheid om langere ritten binnen een dag af te handelen, wordt steeds meer beperkt. Burkart waarschuwt dat de hoge kwaliteit en betrouwbaarheid van de bevoorrading in Zwitserland op middellange termijn in gevaar kan komen, aangezien de weg onmisbaar blijft voor de fijnverdeling van goederen zoals verse producten en medicijnen.<\/p>\n

Dringendheid van de uitbreiding van de nationale wegen<\/h3>\n

ASTAG vraagt daarom om een snelle uitvoering van de wegenprojecten die zijn voorzien in het infrastructuurpakket „Verkeer ’45“. In het bijzonder wordt de uitbreidingsstap 2027, die de uitbreiding van twee drukbezochte delen van de autosnelweg A1 omvat, als dringend noodzakelijk beschouwd. Deze projecten zijn al ver gevorderd in de planning en hebben steun in de betrokken regio’s. ASTAG doet een oproep aan de federale regering en het parlement om deze plannen zonder vertragingen voort te zetten.<\/p>\n

De oppositie tegen de geplande autosnelwegprojecten wordt door ASTAG als onbegrijpelijk beschouwd. Burkart benadrukt dat verkeer als een geheel systeem moet worden beschouwd, waartoe ook de weg behoort. Een mislukking van deze projecten of een fundamentele stopzetting van de uitbreiding kan ernstige gevolgen hebben voor de bevoorradingszekerheid en het welzijn in Zwitserland.<\/p>\n
