Mar 14, 2022 at 6:07 PMCamion Transport AG takes over the transport operations of Willi Schärer Transport AG in Pratteln as of May 1, 2022. This includes employees, vehicles, and customer relationships. With this acquisition, the Eastern Swiss family business further expands its division of partial and full truckload transport and strengthens its position as a transport and logistics service provider.
(Will/Pratteln) The transport company Willi Schärer Transport AG, founded in 1961, is completely withdrawing from the “National Freight Transport” sector and is transferring its business operations to Camion Transport AG, headquartered in Wil. Both companies share a high standard of quality and a long-standing personal relationship between the owners. This led to the decision to integrate the Basel transport company into the structures of Camion Transport AG.
Both parties see this as the most sustainable solution. The takeover includes the customer base from the partial and full truckload sector, as well as crane orders and nine vehicles, which Camion Transport AG will primarily station at its Basel branch, directly next to the Wolf train station. The company also offers all employees continued employment. They are primarily intended for deployment in the partial and full truckload transport sector, thus remaining in their familiar field of activity.
Quickly integrate new employees
“It is our common goal to continue the existing customer relationships at a high quality level,” emphasizes Josef Jäger, Director of Camion Transport AG, adding: “We are also very much looking forward to the personnel reinforcement. We want to quickly integrate the new colleagues into the Camion Transport family.” With this acquisition, the company strengthens its division of national partial and full truckload transport. This benefits both existing and new customers. Willi Schärer Transport AG will continue to exist but will undertake different activities in the future.
