Bertschi Group 2024 with revenue growth of five percent
Feb 13, 2025 at 8:50 PMWith the successful completion of the strategy period 2021-2024, Roberto Cirillo has decided to step down as CEO of Swiss Post. Together with the Board of Directors and the Executive Management, Cirillo has laid the foundation to hand over a solid, future-oriented company to the next generation. Cirillo will remain with the company until the end of March 2025.
(Bern) Following the foundational work, the reappointment of the Executive Management, and the successful implementation of the corporate strategy “Post of Tomorrow,” Roberto Cirillo will resign from his position as CEO at the end of March 2025. “I had the opportunity to lead one of the most significant institutions in our country for six years and to develop it from the trust crisis of that time into the future,” says Cirillo. “Today, the Post is in a stronger position than it was six years ago. I thank everyone who contributed to this – the Federal Council, the Board of Directors, the Executive Management, all employees – especially the tens of thousands of postal workers who embody the best post in the world every day. I am proud and grateful to have been their colleague. Now is the time to hand over the solid and future-oriented Post to a new generation.”
Board of Directors regrets the decision
“I deeply regret Roberto’s decision. With him, it became possible to lead the Post into the future. His personality has significantly shaped the company and created the conditions to address the ongoing major future challenges from a solid position,” explains Board Chairman Christian Levrat. The Board of Directors highly appreciates Roberto Cirillo’s contributions. “These include, among other things, his sustainable strategy and a strong Executive Management that will continue to drive the initiated transformation forward. This includes, for example, the further development of the branch network with investments of over 100 million francs, the development of digital and hybrid services for all generations, modern, future-oriented logistics, and sustainable mobility solutions. We thank him very much for his impactful work and trust-based collaboration and wish him all the best for his future,” comments Christian Levrat on Roberto Cirillo’s departure.
Strategy is on track – Succession search initiated
Roberto Cirillo will remain with the company until the end of March 2025 and will be available to the Board Chairman for special tasks until the end of the notice period on July 31, 2025. The Board of Directors of Swiss Post has already launched the process for determining the succession. Until the new CEO takes office, CFO Alex Glanzmann will lead the company on an interim basis starting in April 2025. The new strategy for the years 2025 – 2028 is based on the previous strategy “Post of Tomorrow” and is already in implementation. The Post continues to pursue the goal of being able to finance a strong, contemporary public service on its own.
