Feb 27, 2026 at 9:26 AMKühne+Nagel has acquired the land transport activities of LSL-Lohmöller Spedition und Logistik GmbH in Rheine. The company, which has been in operation since 1930, offers various transport services, including groupage, LTL (Less Than Truckload), and FTL (Full Truckload) transport. This acquisition is part of Kühne+Nagel’s strategy to further expand its European land transport network. Previously, the company had already acquired TDN in Spain.
Integration into Existing Structures
Lohmöller Spedition is a family-owned business with extensive experience in the logistics sector and a clear focus on digital solutions. The company’s headquarters is located in northwestern Germany, a region that is of great importance for road freight transport. In 2024, Lohmöller achieved a revenue of 23.5 million euros with its land transport activities.
The acquisition will further strengthen Kühne+Nagel’s national groupage and land transport network in Germany. A total of 142 logistics specialists and 50 trucks will be integrated into the existing network. Furthermore, the acquisition will solidify Kühne+Nagel’s position within IDS (International Distribution Systems), one of the largest groupage cooperations in Germany, which Lohmöller has been a part of since early 2026.
Hansjörg Rodi, a member of the management board of Kühne+Nagel International AG and responsible for land transport, commented on the acquisition: “With Lohmöller, we are bringing a team on board that shares our commitment to customer proximity and high-quality services, supported by technology and sustainability. We look forward to jointly enhancing the value for our customers.”
Benedikt Lohmöller, speaking on behalf of the Lohmöller Group, emphasized the existing partnership between the two companies in international logistics since 2018. He stated that both companies know each other well and share similar values in dealing with customers and employees, making the collaboration an ideal complement.
The contract logistics activities and industry-related services of the Lohmöller Group are not part of the acquisition and will remain with the current owners. The acquisition is subject to the usual contractual closing conditions and is expected to be completed in March 2024.
