Feb 27, 2026 at 9:06 AMThe Thommen Group has announced plans to change its organizational structure and will appoint a new management team for Thommen Switzerland effective March 1, 2026. This decision follows the continuous growth of the company’s location in Switzerland, which has been driven in recent years by targeted acquisitions. To address the increasing complexity of operational business, an additional management level will be created to comprehensively oversee the activities of the Thommen AG brand in Switzerland.
New Leadership for Thommen Switzerland
The new management team will be led by Georges Janett and Philippe Scherer. Both executives bring extensive experience gained in various positions within and outside the Thommen Group. Georges Janett has been active in the recycling industry for over 20 years and began his career at Thommen AG in Kaiseraugst. He started with an apprenticeship as a recycler and has progressed through various leadership positions to head the Western Swiss business of the Thommen Group. Janett is also active as an examination expert for recycler training.
Philippe Scherer, on the other hand, brings broad leadership experience from different industries, including financing, automotive, and food. Prior to his new role, he was CEO of Wiederkehr Recycling AG, where he strategically developed and reorganized companies. Together, Janett and Scherer will significantly shape and further develop the Thommen brand in Switzerland.
The introduction of the new management team aims to strengthen the organizational structures of the Thommen Group and align the company with future challenges.
