Identifying Risks in Bid Evaluation
Jun 9, 2026 at 4:49 PMOn Friday, September 18, 2026, the second Industry Night Regio Liestal will take place. A total of 30 companies will provide insights into their working environments between 5 PM and midnight. For the transport and logistics sector, the event offers numerous opportunities to take a look behind the scenes of warehousing, transport, and handling processes.
The organizers expect several thousand visitors once again. After around 4,000 guests at the first event in 2024, companies in seven municipalities will open their doors this time as well. Shuttle buses will connect locations in Liestal, Bubendorf, Itingen, Sissach, and for the first time, Pratteln, Füllinsdorf, and Lausen.
The logistics and freight transport sector is particularly well represented. Companies such as Swiss Post, Planzer Transport, IKEA, Michel Krantrans, and Welti-Furrer will showcase the processes behind the daily supply of businesses and private customers.
Swiss Post will provide insights into the operations of a modern parcel and logistics center. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the processing of large shipment volumes and the organization of deliveries.
Planzer Transport will open its location in Pratteln and demonstrate the diverse tasks of a modern transport and logistics service provider. In addition to freight transport, warehousing, handling, and the management of complex goods flows will be the focus. The company aims to illustrate the processes behind the daily visible truck and delivery vehicle fleets.
IKEA will also participate again in the Industry Night. The logistics center in Itingen has been one of the prominent distribution locations in the region for decades. Visitors will gain insights into current automation and modernization projects. With a specially developed „IKEA Trail,“ logistical processes and new technologies in warehouse operations will be vividly conveyed.
Another focus will be on heavy transport and lifting technology. Michel Krantrans will present the use of mobile cranes and special vehicles, showcasing the planning and technology behind complex lifting and transport tasks. Welti-Furrer will also provide insights into the world of heavy logistics, special transports, and project loadings.
In addition to logistics, numerous companies from the fields of life sciences, industry, energy supply, and crafts will also open their doors. The Industry Night thus offers a comprehensive insight into the economic diversity of the Basel region.
