Switzerland changes approval for road transport companies
Mar 14, 2025 at 6:29 PMThe Swiss Post has fundamentally realigned its logistics and transport activities. Since March 1, 2025, the company has consolidated its services in the areas of transport, logistics, and customs under the unified brand Swiss Post Cargo. This step marks a significant transformation within the Swiss Post and reflects the growing importance of the logistics industry in a globalized world.
(Bern) With the introduction of Swiss Post Cargo, the Swiss Post is pursuing a clear strategy: it aims to provide its customers with an integrated one-stop shop for cross-border logistics solutions. This means that companies no longer need to operate with different subsidiaries but can receive all transport and logistics services from a single source.
As part of this transition, processes and IT systems are being harmonized to make collaboration between the various locations and subsidiaries more efficient. As a result, customers benefit from a more transparent, efficient, and powerful logistics solution.
Which companies are part of Swiss Post Cargo?
The restructuring affects several subsidiaries of the Swiss Post, which now either operate directly under the brand Swiss Post Cargo or present themselves as “Part of Swiss Post Cargo”:
- PostLogistics AG (Switzerland)
- Bächle Logistics GmbH (Germany)
- Logistik Center Villingen (LCV) GmbH (Germany)
These companies will now operate fully under the new name. Additionally, other European companies are part of the Swiss Post Cargo structure, which will still carry their previous names during a transition phase but will be labeled with the addition “Part of Swiss Post Cargo”:
- Portmann Group (France)
- Iemoli Trasporti (Italy)
- Nolden Logistics GmbH (Germany)
- OSA Logistik GmbH (Germany)
- OSA Spedition GmbH (Germany)
By the end of 2027 at the latest, all logistics companies of the Swiss Post are expected to operate fully under the brand Swiss Post Cargo.
Strong logistics network for the future
This consolidation is part of the long-term strategy “Post of Tomorrow,” with which the Swiss Post aims to modernize and further develop its service offerings. In addition to the mere merging of logistics companies, the company is increasingly focusing on digitalization and automation to provide more efficient and flexible transport solutions.
Furthermore, the restructuring strengthens the international presence of the Swiss Post. With Swiss Post Cargo, the company aims not only to establish itself as a leading logistics provider in Switzerland but also to play a crucial role in European freight transport beyond national borders.
