DPD Expands Service in Switzerland Through Partnership with Valora
Jul 7, 2024 at 11:03 AMXplanis is now functioning as a consortium partner for the LAE Transport Price Index. The logistics software company emphasizes its mission to support small and medium-sized transport companies in remaining competitive. The Transport Price Index of Logistics Advisory Experts GmbH is based on a methodology developed at the University of St. Gallen and has been published monthly since its first edition in summer 2020 for the KEP and FTL/LTL segments, separated by spot and contract market for Germany.
(Karlsruhe/Bazenheid) The goal of the LAE Transport Price Index is to make the market price development in the German transport market transparent in a timely manner and to provide the index as a controlling instrument for price performance, as a strategic decision-making aid, or as a basis for price negotiations for transport stakeholders.
“Times are particularly challenging for our target group of small and medium-sized transport companies. We are convinced that the foundation for competitive and economical action lies in fast information and transparency,” says Volker Möller, Managing Director of Xplanis Deutschland GmbH. “Therefore, it is important for us to provide our customers not only with a transport management system that helps them make their transport processes transparent, efficient, and more economical, but also with real price data to enable profitable calculations already in the bidding phase.”
Application in Practice through Interpretation Assistance
Each Transport Price Index comes with an interpretation offer that includes expert assessments of the current market environment. This makes the values easily understandable and applicable for inexperienced readers in their calculations.
Ludwig Häberle, editor of the Transport Price Index and project manager at Logistics Advisory Experts GmbH, looks forward to the new collaboration. “From our experience, we know how much it helps small and medium-sized companies to react promptly to market price developments. Our Big Data-based forecasting method has proven to be very reliable and can provide transport service providers with planning security. With Xplanis, we have found a partner who shares our vision: to secure the future viability of German road freight transport.”
The LAE Transport Price Index is available on the 20th of each month at www.logistics-advisory-experts.ch/lae-transportpreisindex for a small fee. Interested companies also have the option for customized evaluations, such as a monthly benchmarking of their own price development. The most important statements are published as a free service on the Xplanis LinkedIn channel.
