Construction of parcel center in Frauenfeld
Jun 18, 2026 at 10:13 AMStadler and Alpha Trains have signed a new contract for the delivery of 25 electric multi-system locomotives of the type „EURO6000.“ This agreement, which aims to further solidify the long-standing collaboration between the two companies, stipulates the delivery of the locomotives for the year 2028, as stated by Stadler. Since 2007, Alpha Trains has ordered over 150 locomotives from Stadler Valencia.
Expansion of the „EURO6000“ fleet
With the new order, Alpha Trains‘ „EURO6000“ fleet will be expanded to a total of 92 locomotives. Stadler views the new vehicles as a strategic response to the changing demands of the railway market in Spain and Europe. The locomotives will be delivered in various configurations.
According to the manufacturer, the locomotives with Iberian gauge are specifically designed for rail freight transport in Spain. Alpha Trains is thus relying on powerful vehicles to further optimize logistics in Spain. In addition, the „EURO6000“ locomotives are designed with standard UIC gauge for the Mediterranean corridor. These locomotives enable a continuous connection from Spain to France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
