Denner achieves milestone with electric truck
Mar 31, 2026 at 11:07 AMWith the delivery of a fully electric milk collection vehicle to F. Stuber Transporte AG, Renault Trucks is taking another step towards the electrification of heavy commercial transport in Switzerland. The vehicle, delivered by partner J. Windlin AG in early March, is the first Renault Trucks E-Tech C in Switzerland equipped with six battery packs and a total capacity of 540 kWh.
Technical Details and Applications
The new Renault Trucks E-Tech C 6×2 has been specifically designed for the requirements of milk collection. The three-axle chassis with a wheelbase of 3900 mm is equipped with three synchronous AC motors and an automated Optidriver transmission. With a total energy capacity of 540 kWh, it is the first vehicle of this configuration to be delivered in Switzerland directly from the factory without the need for subsequent modifications. The fully electric milk collection vehicle is designed for a total gross weight of up to 42 tons and will be used throughout Switzerland.
The electric solution offers advantages, especially for collection transport in rural areas, such as locally emission-free operation, significantly reduced noise levels, and high energy efficiency.
Optimal Equipment for Collection Operations
The milk tank superstructure comes from Jansky + Partner AG in Gossau ZH and is optimally matched to the electric drive system. Technical features of the vehicle include an E-PTO with 400 V AC for energy-efficient operation of the superstructure, as well as a steerable and liftable trailing axle that allows for high maneuverability in narrow farm access roads. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with comprehensive working lights and roof headlights to ensure safe operations in the early morning hours. The Night & Day cabin with a bed provides the driver with additional comfort, especially during longer assignments.
Quiet operation and high maneuverability are crucial factors, particularly in milk collection, which often takes place in the early morning or late evening.
Long-standing Partnership and Outlook
F. Stuber Transporte AG has relied on vehicles from Renault Trucks for many years and currently operates five vehicles of the brand in its fleet. With the integration of the new E-Tech C, the family-owned company is taking another step towards sustainable transport solutions.
Renault Trucks demonstrates with this new vehicle that electric commercial vehicles are increasingly suitable for complex special transports. In particular, collection transports with planned routes and daily return points provide ideal conditions for the deployment of battery-electric vehicles. The new milk collection vehicle from F. Stuber Transporte AG will be on the road across Switzerland and will contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions in the transport sector.
