Swisslog has expanded its portfolio of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) with AgileStore, a modern roaming pallet shuttle system. This system is designed to maximize storage density and utilize space efficiently while enabling flexible and fully automated material flows.
Expansion of the ASRS Portfolio
With the introduction of AgileStore, Swisslog complements its existing offering of pallet ASRS solutions. In addition to the already established bidirectional pallet shuttle PowerStore and the pallet crane Vectura, AgileStore represents a significant expansion. The new system allows for multidirectional movements, enabling each shuttle to move independently within the warehouse. This leads to more efficient control of pallet flow.
AgileStore is particularly suitable for warehouse environments with irregular building geometries, where traditional aisle-based systems reach their limits. The 4-way shuttle allows for high-density storage with dynamic access in deep channels and mixed SKU environments without requiring structural modifications. The system’s integrated lifts move both shuttles and pallets between rack levels, supporting efficient load transfer and seamless inbound and outbound logistics.
Versatile Application Possibilities
AgileStore supports a variety of pallet types, including Euro pallets, industrial pallets, and chemical pallets. It can handle loads of up to 1,500 kg while ensuring safe storage and complete load control. The system is suitable for both ambient and frozen areas, making it ideal for the food and beverage industry. In these environments, AgileStore manages material flow and load sequencing to protect goods and maintain throughput.

Integration and Future-Proofing
The software integration of AgileStore into Swisslog’s existing software ecosystem enables real-time control of warehouse automation and ensures transparency in inventory. The control software optimizes the performance of the shuttles and lifts, allowing for precise inbound and outbound strategies.
The modular design of the roaming pallet shuttle system includes specially designed racks and high-speed lifts that feature continuous Wi-Fi connectivity. This architecture can be easily expanded as warehouse needs grow, making AgileStore suitable for both current requirements and future growth.
