Kales represents Finnair Cargo in Switzerland
Jul 1, 2026 at 1:51 PMFor the Swiss machine manufacturer Hatebur Umformmaschinen AG, Birsterminal AG recently shipped a warm press of the type „HOTmatic AMP 50.“ The machine, which was assembled at Hatebur’s new production site in the company’s „iLOG Park,“ is designed for the fully automated production of forged parts in high quantities. These parts are used in the automotive industry, particularly overseas, the company reports.
Transport and assembly of the warm press
The approximately 65-ton machine had to be transported from the assembly site after assembly, test runs, and technical acceptance by the customer. A specialized mobile crane was used in tandem operation, supported by the existing hall crane infrastructure. After successful transport, the system was loaded onto a specialized truck and taken to the water-side terminal of Birsterminal.
The warm press was packaged in a „take-along“ wooden crate. This construction allows, according to the company, for the lifting straps for crane handling to be directly attached to the machine, eliminating the need for a self-supporting crate bottom. This approach simplifies packaging and reduces costs.
Shipping and logistics
The accessory materials for the machine were also packaged in wooden crates and boxes and secured in two 40′ „HC Open-Top Containers.“ The machine crate was shipped conventionally, while the two ISO containers departed on June 5, 2026, with the same shipping line from „TANGO SHIPPING LINE.“ On June 10, 2026, the shipment was unloaded in Antwerp and prepared for forwarding overseas.
