DP World, a leading global provider of integrated supply chain solutions, has taken full ownership of Swissterminal AG. Following a successful five-year partnership during which Swissterminal significantly expanded its network and services, this step marks a significant milestone in DP World’s strategic development in Europe.
(Frenkendorf/Dubai) DP World operates in 79 countries across six continents and handles more than 100 million TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) annually, which accounts for about 10% of the world’s container port capacity. In Europe, the company employs over 25,000 people in more than 30 countries and has developed into a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions. DP World’s extensive European network includes both deep-sea and inland ports, warehousing solutions, and transportation services.
Swissterminal, with terminals in the Basel region of Switzerland and Alsace in France, connects Switzerland, southern Germany, and France with the major seaports in northern and southern Europe. The company offers comprehensive terminal and warehousing services, modern storage solutions, as well as a state-of-the-art network of high-frequency rail and inland shipping connections with short transit times. As an important part of DP World’s broader network of barge and rail-connected inland ports and depots, Swissterminal will provide customers with an even greater choice of transport modalities, shorter transit times, and optimized routes – supported by sustainable, low-CO₂ transport solutions.
Effective immediately, Swissterminal AG will be led by Matthias Dischinger as CEO. Roman Mayer will continue to support the company as a member of the Board of Directors and advisor. Tatiana Mayer remains as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), and Fabrice Marti retains his role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The name Swissterminal remains
The name Swissterminal and the company’s branding will remain unchanged, and all delivery and billing addresses will also remain the same. DP World and Swissterminal will continue their collaboration and aim to provide customers with the proven quality and reliability they expect from both companies. In the future, customers will be offered even more comprehensive services and innovative solutions.
