Swiss GDP growth increases compared to the previous year
May 18, 2026 at 12:32 PMThe SVTL – Swiss Association for Temperature-Controlled Logistics held its 80th General Assembly at the historic Lenzburg Castle. Around 55 participants from the temperature-controlled logistics sector gathered on May 8, 2026, for the anniversary event, which focused not only on statutory matters but also on current topics in leadership, HR, digitalization, and robotics.
The connection between tradition and future was evident from the outset. Castle manager Christine Ziegler provided guests with insights into the history of the castle, which dates back to the 11th century. The choice of venue emphasized the anniversary character of the association’s 80th General Assembly.
SVTL President Marco Manzetti introduced new supporting members during the assembly and praised the work of Managing Director Christian Pauli. According to its own statements, the association currently has 35 full members and 35 supporting members.
The current challenges of temperature-controlled logistics were at the center of the General Assembly. Issues such as rising energy costs, digitalization, new drive technologies, a shortage of skilled workers, and the increasing complexity of supply chains are becoming more pressing for the industry. Christian Pauli also referred to the innovation project „Frigero,“ which the association supports in collaboration with ZHAW.
The afternoon program featured various expert presentations. Patricia Herzog discussed the shortage of skilled workers and the role of corporate management, Mara Hausammann examined employer branding and recruiting via social media, while Manuel Wehner from Fraunhofer IML addressed the potential of humanoid robotics for logistics. A subsequent panel discussion rounded off the program.
According to the presented figures, the occupancy rate of Swiss cold and frozen storage facilities remains high. Particularly in the frozen sector, available capacities are scarce. The association sees this as a sign of the persistently high demand for temperature-controlled storage and transport solutions.
With the anniversary General Assembly at Lenzburg Castle, the SVTL also made a statement about the importance of temperature-controlled logistics within the Swiss supply chain. In addition to professional exchange, networking and personal dialogue among industry representatives were particularly emphasized.
