Kühne+Nagel reports slight revenue decline in 2025
Mar 3, 2026 at 9:59 AMLetters, packages, and newspapers were also delivered on time to customers in 2025. This is evident from the annual examinations conducted by the Federal Postal Commission PostCom. The Post not only met the established quality standards but exceeded them. The punctuality for letters is over 97 percent, while packages and newspapers show a punctuality of over 95 percent. To ensure reliable delivery in the future, the Post continuously invests in a modern infrastructure.
In the past year, the Post sent a total of 1.49 billion addressed letters. According to PostCom’s data, 97.3 percent of A-Post letters and 98.7 percent of B-Post letters arrived on time. These figures are based on legal requirements that stipulate delivery within one working day for A-Post and within three working days for B-Post. The package delivery also reflects a positive picture: In 2025, 186.6 million packages were sorted and delivered. The punctuality of Priority packages was 96.1 percent, while Economy packages were delivered on time with an impressive 99.6 percent. The target of 95 percent was thus significantly exceeded. The delivery of subscribed daily newspapers, which must arrive by 12:30 PM, was also fulfilled with a punctuality of 97.8 percent.
Technological Support for Delivery
Customers can conveniently track the status of their packages via the Post app. The online service „My Shipments“ allows real-time monitoring of deliveries. The day before the scheduled delivery, users receive a notification indicating the delivery time within a two to four-hour window. On the delivery day, another message is sent with a more precise time window of 40 to 90 minutes. Additionally, recipients are informed in case of delays. Shortly before delivery, customers receive a link to track the package in real time.
In December 2025, the Federal Council decided to adjust the regulatory requirements for the punctuality of letters and packages. Starting April 1, 2026, the punctuality requirement will be standardized to 90 percent. This adjustment allows the Post to manage deliveries more flexibly on heavily loaded days without compromising quality. The Post intends to continue delivering beyond the new minimum standards to meet the needs of the population and the economy. To achieve this, the Post continuously invests in the development of its infrastructure.
In the next 10 to 15 years, the Post plans to renovate and modernize its national package centers in Härkingen (SO), Daillens (VD), and Frauenfeld (TG). Furthermore, starting April 1, 2026, the Digital Letter will be part of the postal basic service in Switzerland. This allows customers to choose between physical and digital delivery of their letters.
The punctuality of letters is monitored by an independent institute that evaluates data from approximately 65,000 test shipments throughout the year. For packages, the evaluation is conducted by an independent inspection body of the Post, which analyzes data from all individual package shipments over 52 weeks. The delivery of daily newspapers is also verified through sampling by delivery personnel. The results are approved by the supervisory authority PostCom.
