Dec 9, 2025 at 9:40 PMThe full board of SPEDLOGSWISS has elected Thomas Suter as the future director of the association. The 55-year-old will succeed Thomas Schwarzenbach, who will retire at that time, on July 1, 2026.
(Basel) The board is convinced that in Thomas Suter it has chosen the right person for this demanding task, especially since he knows the association and its environment very well during his 13 years of work at SPEDLOGSWISS – 8 of them as deputy director.
For the President of the Association, National Councillor Thomas de Courten, the appointment of Thomas Suter is the ideal choice: “On the one hand, Thomas Suter is in charge and trusts in all matters of basic and further education, which is a core task of our association. In addition, he has been able to familiarize himself with all industry-relevant dossiers as deputy director over the past 8 years. He convinced the electoral body with his proven leadership claim and clear ideas for the further development of our association. For us, he embodies continuity and further development in equal measure.”
Time for thorough training
Director Thomas Schwarzenbach will use the time until his successor takes office to familiarize Thomas Suter with all aspects of the Board of Directors carefully and comprehensively in order to ensure a smooth handover.
